It’s all happening at Haslingden Market on Saturday 27 June as Gather@ - A Festival of Music for Rossendale lands for a morning and early afternoon of live music, creativity and community.

Expect live music, local artists and makers, vinyl and CDs, Guitar Corner, Ask the Luthier, a Puppet Making Workshop and the Puppet Rave presented by Bin Collective – all adding up to a brilliant day at Haslingden Market.

Come down, explore the market, support local traders, and discover how Haslingden Market is becoming a key cultural hub in the heart of Rossendale.

As part of Gather@ Festival, visitors can catch live performances from artists including A.S. Fanning, whose atmospheric songwriting has drawn comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Scott Walker.

Guitarists and music lovers can spend time in Guitar Corner, a relaxed and welcoming space for players of all abilities. Bring your own guitar or simply enjoy the atmosphere. 

You can also visit Ask the Luthier with Crossroads Guitars – bring your guitar for a free Guitar MOT, explore hand-built instruments, watch a French polishing demonstration and chat with Jacob for expert advice on guitar care and maintenance.

At the heart of the event is a high-energy puppet rave, an immersive fusion of electronic music, handmade puppetry, and playful performance for audiences of all ages.

Puppet Making Workshop

Join Bin Collective for a hands-on, creative workshop where you’ll design and build your own puppet using scrap materials and a treasure trove of craft supplies. Dream up your character and bring them to life—whether it’s weird, wonderful, or totally chaotic. Once your puppet is ready, you’ll take them straight to the rave and dance together!

Step into an afternoon of playful chaos with Bin Collective and a cast of delightfully strange characters.

This is no ordinary rave, every raver is a puppeteer. Expect laughter, dancing, and the unexpected as puppets take over the dancefloor.

Bring your own puppet, or meet a new one when you arrive. Whether you made yours in the morning workshop or already have a favourite, everyone is welcome to join the fun.

Vinyl enthusiasts won't want to miss stalls from Carlton Record Fair, Manchester's friendliest record fair, while local artists Marjan Wouda and Andy Buttery will be exhibiting and selling their work throughout the day. Marjan's prints draw inspiration from Lancashire folklore, while Andy's work celebrates the landscapes and architecture of Rossendale.

Gather@ Festival (June 26–28)

Gather@ is a new multi-venue music and culture festival across the Rossendale Valley, presented by later@ in partnership with Horse + Bamboo Theatre.

Across three days, the festival connects towns through a curated programme of live music and creative activity. Audiences can move between venues, discovering independent artists, performances, and a mix of experiences for both locals and visitors.
