- **Event Description**: Join us for a PowerPoint presentation about the courthouse and the workers who carved the stones to build it. The program will focus on the old stone building that was demolished in 1961. The current Portage County courthouse opened in the fall of 1960. It was designed by Kent architect Charles Kistler. A sagging floor in the old courthouse had led to a study which concluded that it would have cost $200,000 to repair the old building. Presented by Kevin Gray. Kevin is a Reference Librarian at Reed Memorial Library and serves as Vice President and Curator of the Portage County Historical Society.
