Make fresh tracks with RLHT's free outdoor event series this winter! Join friends of RLHT, Becca and Dave, owners of Northern Songlines, for a guided winter animal tracking walk. 🐾 Whether you’re brand new to tracking or have experience, this welcoming, curiosity-led outing invites participants to read the stories of the woods together. Learn how to spot and ID animal tracks, wildlife signs, and winter behaviors while exploring RLHT's conserved land.

When: Saturday, March 21
Time: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Cost: Free; advance registration required. Max 14 people. Ages 8 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
What To Expect
- A slow-paced, collaborative approach
- Learning directly from tracks, sign, behavior, and ecology
- Support for beginners and depth for experienced trackers
What To Bring/Wear
- Snowshoes. Need to rent a pair? Contact our friends at Rangeley Adventure Co.
- Warm layers, hat, gloves, winter boots, hand warmers—we could be stopped in an area for 30 minutes or more, looking at tracks
- Wind protection
- Optional: hand lens, notebook, binoculars
