The Berk's 'Psychedelic Sunday' series which we've been lucky to be a part of has been creating a buzz since it started with some killer area acts. We'll be incorporating the exploratory vibe from that into a more 'greased wheels' approach per the weekly angle. These are also early shows (6-8pm) and the perfect opportunity to sample the Berkeley's super fantabulous homemade fare. The Berk folks are just the best and we love playing here. We’ll be performing two sets featuring tracks from our record 'Instrumental Americana', more new original music and as always a well curated group of classic deep cuts. Scott Warren (bass) and special guest John Neff (Mike Mill’s ‘R.E.M. Explored’, The Bad Ends (w/R.E.M.’s Bill Berry), Booker T Jones (on the Grammy winning album ‘Potato Hole’ also featuring Neil Young), Bloodkin, Drive-By Truckers, Japancakes) on pedal steel. He has also recorded as a session guitarist on over twenty albums for artists including Grammy nominee Tift Merritt, Caitlin Cary, Thad Cockrell and Tres Chicas among others and appears in the book North Carolina Musicians: Photographs and Conversations by Daniel Coston. As a composer, arranger & bandleader, his group Mike Krause & The Third Expression has been featured on North Carolina Public Radio’s “The State of Things”.
