ATCN is an advanced course designed for the registered nurse who wants to improve their care of trauma patients.About this EventCourse DescriptionAdvanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) is a comprehensive and advanced educational program specifically tailored for registered nurses who seek to enhance their expertise in the management of patients suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. This intensive course is uniquely designed to be taught concurrently with the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) program, ensuring that participants receive a well-rounded and robust education in trauma care. ATCN learners participate in facilitated ATLS discussions. Additionally, ATCN learners participate in nursing-focused skill stations which include:Initial Assessment &amp; ManagementAirway, Breathing &amp; VentilationCirculation and Hemorrhage ControlDisability (Head, Spine and MSK)Pediatric TraumaSpecial PopulationsThe skill stations are based on an interactive "hands-on: scenario-based approach" to adult education. The practical testing stations allow the ATCN students to demonstrate the application of ATLS and ATCN information on a moulaged patient. Participants receive both a ATCN manual and an ATLS manual.**Participants are expected to have reviewed both texts prior to class in order to successfully participate**Program ScheduleFor those taking the course, class will begin each day at 7:30am with registration and breakfast starting at 7:15 am. Class will end by 5:00pm on Day 1 and please expect to stay until 5:30p on Day 2, to allow enough time to complete your practical and written test.CapRAC Affiliated Agencies (for ticketing purposes)Betsy Johnson Regional HospitalCentral Carolina HospitalCentral Harnett HospitalJohnstonHealthCancellation PolicyParticipants that cancel will be charged the cost of both manuals, which currently total $220, if the manuals have been delivered to the participant.
