- **Event Description**: Mother’s Day is a very special day for most people, a day dedicated to honoring the great moms in our lives. However  for some people, Mother’s Day can be a difficult day full of grief, sadness, and missing those amazing women who are not here with us anymore. 

Missing Our Mothers is a special occasion organized by White Springs Baptist Church for any person who has felt the loss and pain of losing their beloved mother. 

One of our Youth Members, Aubrey, lost her mother only a month before her third birthday. Every Mother’s Day she can remember has been spent without her Mom. 

Aubrey has watched as schools and churches organize assignments, art projects, and events to honor our mothers on this special day. She realized there are others, both kids and adults, who see this and are reminded of the loss of their own mothers. She wanted to find a way to help these people find support during this time of the year. 

So for all who have lost their mothers we will be honoring them on May 9th, with an event called “MOMs - Missing Our Mothers” to celebrate the time we had with them and acknowledge our feelings of loss without them.

There will be food, games, and a tribute board where you can bring and hang pictures of your amazing mothers.

We will have a time to write letters to our mothers, and plant Forget Me Not flower seeds to take home to honor your loved one and show that you will never forget the time you had with her. Counselors will be available at anytime throughout the evening.

We are excited to be hosting this special event, in order to ensure we have the proper amounts of food and supplies we ask for you to mark “going” under this event by May 5th, 2026.
