Top of Jourama Falls - swim and picnic walk

Cherry will be leading a relaxed but adventurous day out to the top of Jourama Falls, with a swim and picnic as the main focus. The plan is to walk in via the lookout track, tackle the steady ~10-minute climb from the lookout, and then another ~50 min to the top of the falls. It is a steep and often hot ascent, so a reasonable level of fitness and comfort on hills is important.

At the top, we will enjoy time around the pools and cascades - perfect for a swim, a long lunch and soaking in the granite scenery. If conditions are safe and time allows, Cherry may explore a little further upstream along Waterview Creek, using the map as a guide and testing out some hands-on navigation.

This walk is open to all levels, but be prepared for heat, a sustained climb and uneven ground. Take your time, carry plenty of water and expect a social, exploratory day rather than a fast-paced mission.

Bring:
- At least 2-3 L of water
- Lunch and snacks
- Swimmers and towel
- Sturdy footwear with good grip
- Hat and sun protection

A classic North Queensland combination: climb, cool off, eat well, repeat.

Townsville Bushwalking Club members: Free
Visitors: $5 per walk. After completing three club walks, you are welcome to join as a member.
