Fond memories, friendship, and folk music combine in a concert while celebrating 2025 and welcoming 2026 with “James Taylor and Carole King: You’ve Got A Friend,” on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Racine Theatre Guild.
Zachary Scot Johnson returns to Racine for a tribute to some of his favorite artists. Growing up on the great folk singer-songwriters, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and of course, James Taylor and Carole King, inspired him to pursue his passion for music through that avenue as well. In 2012, he started the “Song A Day Project,” committing to performing and posting an original or cover every day.
Featuring the unforgettable songs that tell our universal stories, Zachary will be joined by Mark Paffrath, Kate Potter-Barrow, Greg Berg, Kathy Berg, Bob Benson, and Courtney Jones, exploring Taylor and King classics, plus other singers of the Laurel Canyon. These folk legends’ music has become a part of the fabric of American music with powerful lyrics and captivating melodies. Refreshments will be provided during the concert to celebrate New Year’s Eve
