This event was created in response to a recent survey Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-15th) emailed to residents of her district which includes Adams County.
 
In her email Miller wrote, “I want to hear directly from you,” although not everyone in the district received the invitation.
 
Wendy Martin, one of the organizers, said, “We want to create some visibility so that our congresswoman knows how we feel since she asked, even if she hasn’t ever held a Town Hall with most of us.”

“We hope we have a good turnout on Saturday. We will be there rain or shine,” she added.

A group of volunteers has organized this event so that Miller can hear directly from voters.
 
Because she has not held Town Meetings in many of the counties she represents, those attending this event are invited to sign a letter prepared for Miller, write their own letter to Miller, or bring a sign to show everyone there what is important to them.
 
Organizers, working with 50501 Quincy Illinois, will deliver the letters to Miller’s office after the event.
