Ecstatic Dance, also known as Conscious Dance, is a self-guided movement practice which aims to cultivate a state of joy, connection and presence. There are no steps to follow, so each participant can just flow with the music and move in ways that feel good for their own body. No dance experience is required and every single body is welcome! Even if you have two left feet and you've never taken any dance lessons, you can stil enjoy this practice! The goal is not to perform or show any specific dance skills, but rather to play and have fun, to experience freedom in your body, to enjoy the music without distractions and surrender to the present moment. This is a safe, non-judgmental and inclusive space, where we foster a culture of respect, non-discrimination and equality. Please note that there are a few guidelines to follow, to ensure that we can experience this inner journey in a safe and mindful way. 1. Verbal communication is discouraged on the dance floor to maintain a state of flow and avoid disruptions. If you need to have a conversation, please step outside of the dance area. However, you can sing, release sounds, laugh or cry if you feel called to do so. 2. No substances: Ecstatic dance is a drug- and alcohol-free environment to ensure clarity and safety. 3. No phones or cameras are allowed to ensure everyone's privacy and minimize distractions. 4. Consent-Based: Physical contact is allowed, but it should be consensual. Participants should respect others' boundaries and seek clear consent before engaging in physical interactions. 5. No shoes: you can dance barefoot or keep your socks on. ♡What to bring? Comfortable / flowy clothes (layers are best) and your own bottle of water. About DJ :Ka: :Ka: (Jordan Holmes) began his musical journey with guitar and song writing, before being introduced to the intentional dance culture in the mid-nineties. Through dance culture he experienced many powerful awakenings which inspired him to become a DJ and producer. A purveyor of fine dub, global bass, progressive/afro house, and psychedelic downtempo, :Ka: travels the world with his sets, selecting the right spice for the magic, expanding minds and opening doors. :Ka: was a founding member of the Pollination intentional gathering, and has played sets at major festival events such as Shambhala, Entheos, and ArtsWells. :Ka: brings his heart to his offerings with the intention to deepen awareness, enhance connection, and uplift the spirit.
