Chinese Calligraphy Course by Manlin

WHAT?

Manlin shall teach this course in Chinese, supplemented with English. You will be guided stroke by stroke to write using the traditional Chinese brush, helping you build confidence in this ancient art form and inspiring a lasting appreciation for its elegance. As Chinese New Year approaches, you will also learn to create your own beautiful red single-character pieces and couplets of good fortune—handcrafted blessings to share with your family.

中国书法有着悠久的历史和丰富的文化渊源，身为新加坡的华人，学习毛笔书法可以更加深入了解和丰富我们的华族文化知识和素养。在我们这个十六个小时的书法入门课程中，大家会了解书法的分类、历史，学习书法基本的笔法、字法和章法，如何欣赏一幅书法作品。老师也会带着大家一笔一笔地学习书写的基本笔法，让零基础的学员也完全没有压力，轻松上手，打好基本功。课程临近农历新年，老师会教大家在红纸上亲手创作斗方“福”字、吉祥话语的春条和春联，为我们各自家庭的春节增添节日的喜庆气息。来自更生美术研究会的周曼琳老师会带着她历年在“春到河畔”、各银行、商场、学校为公众书写春联的经验，在百仁中心等待您的加入。

COURSE FEE:

$280.00 per person

$56 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy

National Silver Academy

• NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

SkillsFuture Credit

• In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
• All tickets purchased with the intent to use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee will be subject to a non-refundable $20 administrative fee.

EFFECTIVE 1ST JUNE 2025, ALL TICKETS PURCHASED WITH INTENT TO USE SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT WILL HAVE A NON-REFUNDABLE, $20 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE IMPOSED.

Step 1 (on Skillsfuture Website): Check your SkillsFuture credit balance.

Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.

On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.

Select the intended Ticket Type (either NSA+SkillsFuture or Individual+SkillsFuture) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.

Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)

Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.

Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.
