As a child of Latin American (Uruguayan) and Asian (Japanese American, yonsei) diasporas, she draws on complex cultural legacies to explore identity, migration, and storytelling. Through collaborative, community-driven projects, Nakazawa blurs the boundaries between education, activism, and art, inviting collective participation. Her jacquard textiles incorporate images from open-access museum collections, often highlighting historical moments of cultural exchange. These works serve as tactile archives; places to critically engage with memory. She holds an MFA from California College of the Arts, an MSEd from Queens College, and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has been shown at institutions including The Met, Wave Hill, and Kunsthal Extra City. Nakazawa has participated in numerous residencies and her work is held in collections such as The Rockefeller Foundation and Memorial Sloan Kettering.https://www.natalianakazawa.com/@nakazawastudioNicole Lattuca (Parents in the Avant Garde) is an artist, curator, designer, educator, and mom of a toddler. Her creative work  seeks dialogue with the histories or nuances of a place to facilitate learning environments, design engagements, and celebrate the beauty of communities and place. She creates a focused attention to the design, atmosphere, and hospitality of every program and workshop. Nicole is Co-Founder of Parents in the Avant Garde and a Teaching Artist at Dia Beacon, Catskill Art Space, and Bethel Woods. Nicole holds an MA in Exhibition and Museum Studies from San Francisco Art Institute.https://www.nicolelattuca.com/Parents in the Avant Garde @parentsintheavantgardeMatthew Mottel (Parents in the Avant Garde) is an artist, musician and researcher/writer who enlivens primary source materials and creates collaborative artworks that amplify knowledge and provide access to subterranean culture. Social activism and cultural community are threads that run throughout his extensive body of performances, videos,  sculptures and music. Mottel’s comprehensive artistic foraging stems from his native New York upbringing. In 2015, he collectively levitated Vice Media HQ into the East River in a performance ritual organized by his band Talibam! He is currently a professor of Media Art at both Brooklyn College and New Jersey City University. He was awarded a Social Practice CUNY Fellowship for 2022-2023. https://www.mattmottel.info/@talibamnycArt Jones works with moving images, sound, and installation. His object-based work explores the relationships between collective memory, history and power at specific times and places. Jones' dj/vj audiovisual performances often utilize mainstream media and popular culture as raw material to be sampled and remixed in order to examine implicit meanings or suggest new ones. He has performed and collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists and has exhibited in the U.S. and internationally at venues including Ars Electronica, Tate Gallery, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, Times Art Center Berlin, and MoMa. He works in a variety of old and new media interfaces and continues to perform at various locations.@artjones3000
