Intro to Songwriting Workshop

Participants will learn several ways to start a song, the importance of a really good song title and how to gauge the effectiveness of yours, how to generate ideas for songs and determine their commercial prospects, how to distinguish a poem from a lyric and how develop your idea into song lyrics, different opening line approaches for a lyric and what makes a good one, how to develop a melody (without having to play an instrument) using your newfound lyrical "seeds" and some other cost-free methods. No musical or writing background or supplies are needed, but bringing a pad and pen to take notes is highly recommended.
