About the event

One Acts 2025
One Acts 2025 is here! Shows are Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23. Get your tickets online or at the door!

Vermont Theatre Company announces "An Evening of One Acts" at the Eveningstar Grange in East Dummerston, VT, Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23. Shows are at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2 pm on Sunday.

"It's a dark and unsettling night of theater full of psychological thrills and tender moments," says Iris. "It's going to crush you and give you hope for humanity, all in one evening."

The four shows are:
"The Candidate" by Brent Holland
Directed by Harral Hamilton
Four people wake up in a room with no memory of who they are or how they got there— and no way out. As they're put through a series of increasingly dangerous trials, they start to realize they're actually part of a secret interview process.

"Bar Dykes" by Merril Mushroom
Directed by Eli Coughlin Galbraith
A firsthand depiction of the gay bar scene in the 1950s. Eleven gay women cruise, dance, fight, drink, and argue about gender.

"The Lemesurier Inheritance" by Miles Ledoux
Directed by Kay Beckett
Adapted from an Agatha Christie short story, Hercule Poirot and his friend Captain Hastings investigate a medieval family curse. Can Poirot solve the mystery before more lives are lost?

"Vebrook Hospital for the Reeducation of the Criminally Sane" by Anita Parrott
Directed by Saskia Bailey-de Bruijn
When forced to choose between your life and your art, what would you do? With four days left to live, a mime, a poet, a painter, and a singer must grapple with what matters most to them.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale of $10 to $20, both at the door or online at vermonttheatrecompany.org
