Next Stage and Twilight Music present a captivating evening with two acclaimed singer-songwriters whose work blends vulnerability, imagination, and social consciousness.
Antje Duvekot is celebrated for her deeply personal, poetic songwriting and the luminous intimacy of her voice. Born in Germany and raised in the U.S., she has built a career turning private stories into shared truths — songs that transform fear into resilience and isolation into community. A winner of top honors including the John Lennon Songwriting Award and the Kerrville “Best New Folk” Award, Duvekot has performed at the Newport Folk Festival, Celtic Connections, and NPR programs nationwide. Her albums, produced by the likes of Mark Erelli and Richard Shindell, feature collaborators such as Anaïs Mitchell and John Gorka.
Seth Glier, the Grammy-nominated artist from Western Massachusetts, brings a visionary voice to the modern folk landscape. His latest album, Everything, explores our connection to the natural world, reimagining the bond between humanity and the planet through songs that balance urgency with hope. Glier’s work as a cultural diplomat for the U.S. State Department and collaborations with artists worldwide reflect his belief in music as a bridge for empathy and change.
Together, Antje Duvekot and Seth Glier create an evening of luminous storytelling — songs of heart, conscience, and connection that remind us how art can illuminate both the inner and outer landscapes of our lives.
As part of Next Stage’s 15th anniversary celebration, two of its founders, Anita Dunlap and Rebecca Waxman, will be honored at this event.
This performance is supported in part by AARP Vermont.
