Please NOTE:
⛄Younger players will get 'first dibs' on riding on the float because seating space is limited and the parade is long!
⛄At least 1 parent (or guardian) must accompany children who are signing up. Your supervision of your child is required and appreciated during the event for the safety of everyone!
⛄Once the float fills up everyone else will walk behind the float!
🎄Dress warm & wear comfortable shoes! The parade route is 1.5mi long!
🍬🍭NO THROWING CANDY or other items from the float!!🍬🍭Walkers are WELCOME to hand out (no throwing) candy. Throwing anything (especially from a moving truck/trailer) with spectators of all ages gathered around is not permitted by the Putnam Parade Committee.

*START*--> Grove Street Monument
--->Right onto South Main St
--->Left onto Front Street through Downtown
--->Right onto Kenedy Drive at Cargill Falls
--->Right onto Providence St
*END* at Putnam Municipal Building! (Float will return to Grove Street)
We gather at the float location around 3:00pm-3:30pm - typically we are 'staged' to get everything ready on Grove Street (2024 we were within sight of the Monument. Our float creators won't know exact location until they park the float in staging area on-site THE DAY OF PARADE!
Grove Street is typically closed off by Putnam PD to through traffic around 3pm!
All participants must plan to be dropped off near Grove Monument or Grove St Cemetery area and walk to meet the float by 3:30!
We are asked by the Parade Coordinators to have walkers be prepared to be picked up at the end of the parade (at the Putnam Municipal Building on School Street!). The float will stop briefly for any riders & walkers to separate from the float at the Municipal Building & then the float and all riders must return to Grove Street.
Please be prepared for heavy traffic a couple hours prior to the parade - AND for quite a while afterwards as all spectators & float participants make their way home! Carpooling is highly suggested!
**For reference in 2024 our Float completed the entire parade route & was back on Grove Street BEFORE THE END of the parade had passed our initial staging area!!! Our kiddos got to dismount the float and spend a few minuters waving to and watching all of the beautifully lit fire trucks who were at the 'tail' of the parade route!!
We will send out more information on the exact float location the day before the parade & exact float location the day of parade --- so please be on the lookout for that!
