We are excited to announce a unique weeklong workshop on Understanding Rural Development and how it impacts us. We are extremely fortunate to have Ashish Arora, come down from Himachel Pradesh with all his expertise and wisdom, to lead this workshop.
Following is a summary of the workshop (details are available in the attachment).
Time - 8:00am to 8:00pm , 23rd April - 30th April
Place - DLRC Campus located on Sus road , in the lane opposite to the Volvo Service Centre
Facilitator - Ashish Arora, a graduate of IIT, lives in a village in Himachal Pradesh and works, in the villages of Gujarat and Himachal, for many rural projects related to Education and Livelihood sector. More about him at www.sahajfoundation.in
Daily Schedule - Daily, there will be a total of five sessions (two before lunch and three after lunch) of about 1.5 to 2 hours of duration each.
The sessions include
Simulations (role play based activities in order to understand the space of rural development)
Reflection based sessions and group sharing.
On sixth day, all participants have to present the outcomes of their field research conducted during the dialogue to a larger audience (of parents, well-wishers and local community)
Who should attend? - Those who wish to understand/work (or who are already working) for the development of the villages in India in any field such as Education, Livelihood, Health, Technology etc. Also, please keep in mind that this dialogue shall focus on "Why should we develop our villages?" and NOT "How should we execute our ideas"
