How do sound, language and body relate to each other? We use the body as an electroacoustic instrument, bio-captors and sonification devices, trying to explore the mediating roles played by pseudo-linguistic and non-linguistic sounds in the ways we signal varying internal and physiological states to the environment. SonicSkins is a live improvised experimental bio-physical-jam.
Akash is an experimental artist whose works range from electro-acoustic improvisation, data manipulation, algorithmic compositions, and sensor-based music. He is the founding Director of Sound.Codes - a sound research lab that primarily works towards efficiently cataloguing Acoustic Signatures of heritage structures across India. One of his algorithms being used to capture these Acoustic Signatures is of convolution reverb. His sincere attempt is to capture, preserve and make available the acoustic imprints of these historic spaces, steeped in the knowledge and rich culture of the past.
