Ratangad Fort Trek - The Jewel Of Sahyadris!
Ratangad has a natural rock peak with a cavity in it at the top which is called 'Nedhe' or 'Eye of the Needle'. The fort has four gates Ganesh, Hanuman, Konkan and Trimbak. It also has many wells on the top.
Ratangad was captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosle and was one of his favorites. The base village Ratanwadi has an Amruteshwar temple which is famous for its carvings. The fort is origin for the river Pravara/Amrutvahini. The Bhandardaradam(arthar dam) is built on this river.
The main attraction at Ratanwadi is the Amruteshwar temple dating back to the Hemadpant Era - roughly from the eighth century which is famous for its carvings.

Height: 4255 feet
Time to reach is around 2 hours to the top and around same to descend down from the other route

20th Dec : Catch the Kasara Special Train from Dadar
21st Dec: Pickup in vans after we reach Kasara and we move towards the base village. Morning 6am trek begins with a local guide after rest & breakfast. We return back by 8 pm to Mumbai.
Total cost of the trek is 1200/- from Kasara to Kasara which includes jeep travel at night, breakfast and guide, lunch to be carried by self.
Lunch can be arranged post descend at the village at a value for money rate.
