Join The Western Routes for a Photo Walk of the Pandharpur Yatra or Waari in Pune city.
The annual Pandharpur Yatra (Waari) to the Vithoba Temple at Pandharpur in Maharashtra from Dehu and Alandi attracts thousands of people and pilgrims known as warkaris.
The Palkhi is scheduled to arrive in Pune on Sunday, 18 June 2017. It reaches Shivajinagar at around 4:30 pm. We will hang around of FC Road, interacting and photographing the warkaris (with their permission, of course) and learn more about their beliefs and their interesting stories.
Date: Sunday, 18 June 2017
Meeting Point: Cafe Good Luck, Fergusson College Road
Time: Assemble at 5:30 pm
Note: This is not a guided walk. We will be on FC Road for 2-3 hours to experience the Waari when it passes through Pune.
