LTP Presents Agent Provocateur - Dance-Theatre by Shapeshift

Dance, drama and some food for thought. Entertainment reaches a sensual high at the rooftop this weekend!

Ever wondered how much impact sociological changes have on your body language? Explore the answer through a stunning dance-theatre experience at Lost The Plot, in association with Shapeshift.

AGENT PROVOCATEUR is a dance-theatre performance exploring the effects that a climate of growing intolerance/indoctrination has on the body and its impulses. The body is the site for both – sharing a personal response and for pondering the collective ‘anxious’. Conflict, humour and contradiction provide the turf for resistance and negotiation. The show is choreographed as a series of episodes with two performers and a live musician.

About the Team:

Shapeshift is a performance company created by Sujay Saple which is committed to producing new kinds of hybrid collaborative experimental work, and to nourishing the growth of the dance-theatre field in India. So far, Shapeshift has produced three original works: ‘Unselfed’(2012), ‘Moonfool’(2014), and ‘Ghar Ki Murgi’(2017, short), which have performed at various festivals and vital alternative venues around India and received rave reviews.

Arpit Singh (performer) is a Kalaripayattu artist/teacher and contemporary performer. He has previously performed in Shapeshift’s ‘Moonfool’.

Surbhi Dhyani (performer) is a contemporary dancer and actor. She has trained primarily with Danceworx in Delhi and has been performing independently with Delhi-based choreographers.

Harsh Karangale (music composer) is well known as a drummer with indie band Sky Rabbit, and for completing fellow band member’s Snowshoe live ensemble. He has recently emerged out of the city scene as a producer with his solo project: BITMAP, a unique sonic venture

Ajay Nair (assistant director) is an upcoming filmmaker, editor and poet.

Vikram Phukan (dramaturg) is a playwright and theatre critic, who writes extensively on theatre.

Rachel D’souza (dramaturg) is an independent actor and performance-maker, who has recently directed ‘Fly By Night’ with The Patchworks Ensemble.

Get ready for an evocative evening as dance blends with theatre to showcase how our bodies too can become agents of social change. Book now.
