Što reći? Koju poruku poslati? Kome?
Pitam Zokija neki dan:
– E, koji će nam ovo biti session po redu? Ti si vodio popis, je li?
Par sati kasnije stiže odgovor:
– 190.
– U je… 😅
Na (našu) sreću, soundsystem kultura, reggae i te šeme cijene dugovječnost i konzistenciju naspram mladosti i trendova, barem tako vele stari Raste.
Ima tu istine, koliko god smo odabrali teži put, toliko je isti bio poziv.(koristeći sakralne termine ovdje) sa dobrim razlogom roots music preživljava i opstaje i u 21. stoljeću, Munchies Soundsystem je samo jedan list u knjizi otkrivljenja.
Roots, buraz, nadilazi vrijeme i prostor 🌌.
Zato Munchiesi nadilaze granice onoga što se smatra mogućim za soundsystem iz neke tamo Pule kraj mora 🌊🏝️.
Ozbiljnost na stranu, fakat nam je drago podijeliti još jedan session s cijelom bandom koja je uz nas već više od desetljeća ❤️, te uz posebne goste:

Kada je davne 2016. na zadnjem danu TOY-a Dubar rekao da ide za Njemačku i oprostio se uz šaku sreće 🍀 i tišine… mogli smo mu samo poželjeti sve najbolje.
Ipak čovjek je pravi karakter te se uspješno odupro raljama Babylona Berlina 😈🌆 i u međuvremenu stasao u cijenjenog producenta iza kojeg su par Mixtapova, EP izdanja i dosta solidan album

Nisu za badava prošli desetljeće pakla soundsystem života, da ne bi netko rekao da stari sound ne može naučiti nove trikove! 🐺📀
BELLYFULL
Belly Full trbuhom i bradom dub aktivist i selektor iz Zenice (BiH) sa trenutnom adresom u Zagrebu. Počeo je prije nešto više od deset godina sa organizacijom koncerata i festivala u rodnom gradu, kao i selektor u kolektivu Zenicafaria. Roots to Dubwise je stil koji opisuje njegove setove a vrtio ih je od bosanskih kafana do austrijskih podruma. Na njegov muzički izričaj je Seasplash festival udario temelje a stil je razvijao kroz svoje djelovanje u građanskom aktivizmu. Kako to biva na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije, ljudi iz reggae/soundsystem kulture su povezani pa je tako i Belly Full što svojim radom što selektiranjem muzike dao doprinos Gotiva Festivalu, Seasplash, Outlook i Escape the City festivalu kao i mnogim drugim festivalima i događajima. Poruke koje se plasiraju iz muzike koju pušta su društveno kritički postavljene, protiv granica, fašizma i diskriminacije.

Lasmo (36) Volim sendviče bez priloga, dužu kavicu u veliku šalicu i zadarsko zaleđe. Navijam za Hajduk. Učim svirati gitaru i skupljam mačke. Kad narastem, želim postati veterinar. Želim se dopisivati s vršnjacima iz cijele zemlje.
Kiwi (38). Volim sendviče bez priloga, indijance i kavicu s mlijekom. Skupljam sve kaj nađem na cesti. Navijam za NK Prevaru. Kad narastem želim raditi na kiosku da mogu čitati stripove cijeli dan. Želim se dopisivati sa drugaricama i drugarima iz cijele zemlje.
Kani (30). Volim sendvič sa malo majoneze zelenom i krastavcima, kavicu s mlijekom i sokić, moderne francuze i Mazdu. Kad narastem želim postati vozačica formule jedan. Skupljam salvete, postere ljudi objavljenih na naslovnici magazina Gloria i naljepnice. Želim se dopisivati sa dobrostojećim muškarcima iz svih krajeva naše lijepe zemlje.

Ten years of Munchies Soundsystem… 🔟🔊
What to say? What message to send? To whom?
I asked Zoki the other day:
– Yo, which session will this be for us? You kept the list, right?
A few hours later the reply arrives:
– 190.
– Damn… 😅
Luckily for us, soundsystem culture, reggae and all that jazz value longevity and consistency over youth and trends, at least that’s what the old Rastas say.
There’s truth in that, as much as we chose the harder path, it was also a calling (using sacral terms here) and for good reason roots music survives and thrives even in the 21st century, Munchies Soundsystem is just one page in the book of revelation.
Roots, my bretheren, it transcends time and space 🌌.
That’s why Munchies push beyond what’s considered possible for a soundsystem from some far away little Pula by the adriatic sea 🌊🏝️.
All Seriousness aside, we’re really stoked to share another session with the whole crew that’s been with us for more than a decade ❤️, and with special guests:

Back in 2016 on the last day of TOY festival, when Dubar said he was moving to Germany and said goodbye with a handful of luck 🍀 and silence… we could only wish him all the best.
Still, the man is a real character and successfully resisted the jaws of Babylon Berlin 😈🌆 and in the meantime grew into a respected producer with a few mixtapes, EP releases and a pretty solid album behind him.
Zvonko “Viki” Slišurić (google Voodoobuddah): said:
“Dubar Sound: Dream Reality — dub sound as strong as Slavonian oak!” 🌳
The Istrian crew last heard him at ETC, and it is an honour to host him again inna anniversary style!
