Shibori is a resist-dyeing technique typically using indigo dye on 100% cotton fabric.About this EventShibori means “to wring” or “to squeeze” in Japanese and is a resist-dyeing technique similar to tie-dye. Instead of using rainbow color, it uses pure indigo dye to achieve luscious, deep blues on a natural fiber cloth. As a dye-resist technique, shibori patterns can be made by reducing the surface area exposed to the dye. This is done with scrunching, wrapping and binding the fabric in different ways around different tools. Anything exposed will be dyed indigo, while anything “scrunched”, “bunched” or bound remains the fabric’s original color (in this case white).There is a limit to participants.
