About the author:

Jamie Coelho is a editor-in-chief at Rhode Island Monthly magazine, where she has written and edited food and drink, lifestyle and news content about the Ocean State for the past twelve years. Her local food newsletter, The Dish, won a Gold Award from the City and Regional Magazine Association in 2015. She is a 2004 graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications and has worked at Men’s Health magazine, Boston magazine and AAA publications. Her work has been published in the Boston Globe Magazine, Boston magazine, Yankee, Boston.com and Thrillist. Jamie appears on "The Rhode Show" on WPRI 12 frequently and has a monthly radio segment on Now. 93.3. She has also appeared on "Weekends with Yankee," and served as a producer for Rhode Island PBS and Rhode Island Monthly's special panel discussions on food insecurity and young farmers embracing the future of agriculture. Jamie is also the board president of the Avenue Concept public arts organization, based in Providence, Rhode Island.
