About this Event

* Please contact us if a ASL Inturpeter or other accommodations are needed by February 28th*

This training supports bilingual clinicians in recognizing how human trafficking may show up in clinical settings and responding in ways that are trauma-informed and ethically grounded. Attendees will explore common indicators, how trauma and language influence disclosure, and the pivotal role of confidentiality and professional boundaries in bilingual practice.

1.5 CEU will be available pending approval

Objectives:

  • Understand the dynamics and indicators of human trafficking in clinical settings
  • Explore the unique role, risks, and strengths of bilingual clinicians
  • Apply trauma-informed, culturally responsive interventions
  • Recognize signs of secondary trauma and boundary challenges when working with trafficking victims/survivors

Facilitated by:

Katheryn Segura Arroyo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the only bilingual clinical therapist at Sojourner House, where she works as a Housing Stabilization Clinical Therapist. She has spent her career supporting children, families, and adults in hospitals and the community, always approaching her work with trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity. With specialized training in EMDR and DBT, Katheryn is passionate about helping clients heal, build stability, and access the resources they need to thrive.
