Bjrk, Radiohead, and Sigur Rs sit alongside Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix, connected to deeper jazz cuts by Abbey Lincoln and Eddie Harris. The two-disc album explores the sacred power of storytelling: Tongues examines the act of communication direct, sardonic, and political; Hope Language turns toward reflection, resistance, and a hard-won hope in humanity.
