- **Event Name**: Flametree Gathering
- **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 21 Aug, 2026 at 05:00 pm – Sun, 23 Aug, 2026 at 06:00 pm (+10:00)
- **Event Description**: David Flower presents a beautiful bunch of artists for an intimate three day gathering in the Whitsundays at the spectacular Lake Proserpine. The gathering offers some of our favourite folk /funk /rock and roots artists and a full program of entertainment, games and guaranteed spontaneous moments known as the ‘Flower Effect’.

This is a grassroots celebration of music, connection, and community, where folk, funk, rock and roots weave together in perfect harmony. Returning to Lake Proserpine the festival unfolds beside calm freshwater, wide open skies and natural bush surrounds – a relaxed lakeside setting shaped by campfires, expansive views and long, glowing sunsets.

Across three days, audiences can enjoy a carefully curated program of live, original music, storytelling & intimate performances from exceptionally talented Australian artists. There will be local food vendors, small markets and plenty of space to simply take it all in. Whether you’re watching from a camp chair, dancing barefoot or settling in as the sun goes down, Flametree unfolds at an easy pace, designed to feel welcoming and relaxed.

Flametree Gathering proudly supports Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc., the local legends quietly working to keep the Whitsundays free of ocean rubbish. We have proudly raised $10K over the last 3 years to support their ongoing marine debris removal programs and Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.

The event also continues its commitment to Zero Waste management. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable cups, plates and cutlery, with waste separation stations available throughout the site. Food and market stalls operate with sustainability in mind to help minimise landfill and reduce the event’s environmental footprint.

What to Bring:
Your shade, your seat, your picnic rug
Drinking water – stay hydrated and if you are camping you will need water for cooking and washing up
Cash for raffles and market stalls
Your favourite people (and your dancing feet)
Your esky and whatever you fancy sipping on (yep, it’s BYO)
Your camping gear (book your site directly with Whitsunday Holiday Park – Lake Proserpine)
An open heart and a sense of adventure
Markets and food trucks will keep you fuelled, and if you’ve got little ones, know they’re welcome too (and under 12s free, must be accompanied by a paying adult).

Artists

David Flower is a musician, songwriter, community builder, and the co-founder of Flametree Gathering , created alongside his partner, Bronwyn Garland. For decades, David carried a dream of creating a festival that brought people together through music, creativity, connection, and a shared love of community. Together, David and Bronwyn transformed that vision into reality, creating Flametree Gathering as a celebration of live music, art, culture, and the magic that happens when people come together.

Matty Rogers

Raw, soulful and full of fire, Matty Rogers blends bluesy grit with foot-stomping folk and rock. Armed with percussive guitar and a gravel-edged voice, his sets move easily from quiet, heartfelt moments to big, energy-charged crescendos.

Warm vocals and heartfelt songwriting sit at the centre of Tiffany Grace’s music. Raised in the Whitsundays, she blends country-folk storytelling with modern acoustic pop, creating songs that feel sincere, uplifting and familiar.

Sky Eater

Sky Eater is the dreamy lovechild of water spirit Chelsea Skyeater and dub soldier TK Bassdread. Chelsea’s soaring vocals and TK’s rootsy soundscapes create a contemporary fusion of dub, trip-hop and soulful pop that warms the heart.
