Join us at Ruff Start Rescue for a Rangers & Volunteer Event on February 19th, 2026! Ruff Start Rangers, a program within the Education Department, aims to educate youth through service and activities in hopes the future of animal welfare sees fewer homeless pets and more responsible pet owners. All themes in this series come from this program.
Pet Body Language is a kid-friendly Ruff Start Rescue program that teaches students how to “read” what animals are feeling through their movements, sounds, and behaviors. Kids learn how pets communicate comfort, fear, excitement, and stress, and how to respond safely and kindly. It’s an engaging way to help children build empathy, confidence, and safe habits around animals.
The event will start at 5:30 pm and is estimated to last ~90 minutes; we will do a brief presentation about the topic then do a fun themed activity together! When signing up, please include parents and kids in the total admission number so we have an idea of how many will be in attendance.
