While at the festival, Stéphane crosses paths with Fanny, a former intern and colleague who is now starring in a Victor Hugo classic. Determined to impress her, he impulsively claims he is playing the prestigious lead role of Rodrigue in Corneille's Le Cid—her favorite play. What begins as a small white lie quickly spirals into a tangled web of deceit, awkward encounters, and absurd improvisations. With the help of his troupe members, Stéphane tries to come clean, but his growing infatuation with Fanny clouds his judgment.
