You are invited for a special experience at ntámłqən community gardens. Come exhale, have a giggle or two, and enjoy a delicious lunch in good company.

? 10AM – 11:45AM PST (lunch follows, garden open until 2PM)
?ntámłqən community gardens (1425 Hwy 3, Cawston, BC, V0X 1C3) 

Surrounded by valley views in the fresh summer air, we will start with a nourishing guided morning practice designed to awaken the body, calm the mind, and cultivate presence. A delicious lunch prepared with care will follow.

? All-generations event; open to all ages and all levels
? Prioritizing syilx-sməlqmíx families and their beloveds
? Lunch included (freshly prepared food, and refreshing drinks)

What to Expect

? Breathwork and mindful movement

Please Bring
• a beach blanket, a chair, or a yoga mat (choose what is best for your mobility)
• comfortable clothing suitable for movement
• a water bottle

Note: This is an outdoor event. Dress well for the weather.

Amrika Tikasingh (she/her) uses evidence-informed practices to help you nurture brain, body, and spirit. Her classes, courses, retreats, and specialized workshops draw on decades of lived cultural practice rooted in the Caribbean, blended with years of specialized training.

Humaira Hamid (she/her) is dedicated to restoration, presence, and expression. These days, she applies her basket of diverse skills – program development, teaching, marketing and public speaking among them – to support Indigenous community sovereignty in action at ntámłqən community gardens & food hub in the Similkameen Valley, as well as producing gatherings & learning events as the principal at 4C Productions.

Humaira is ever learning the resistance traditions and solidarity practices rooted in her Bangladeshi heritage. She does her best to walk lightly, work deeply, and live in right relation with kin and place. She believes in doing serious work with excellence, giggles, and great love. You are likely to have a lively conversation with her if you are interested in potatoes, bunnies, and/or being an accountable ancestor.

The vision of ntámłqən Gardens is to build decolonized, collaborative, healthy, and happy community, where people can rely on and help each other. Bringing people back together in community is essential, sharing food, knowledge, and resources, showing care and love. This is with a view into the future 7 generations, who will learn how to work with land to benefit community and be in reciprocal relationships, building health and wellbeing for all. 

In its fullest expression: 
• The Hub provides healthy and affordable food, living wage jobs, entrepreneurial opportunities, and access to food and farming skills. 
• The farm grows food crops and has livestock with sustainable and organic ethics, processes food into preserved and saleable goods, and support intergenerational learning. 
• The land is part of a revitalized gardening culture and indigenous trade and barter systems, as well as a lively space for creativity and collaboration.
