𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: In an ode to the B-movie schlock of the ‘50s and ‘60s, a mild-mannered florist (Rick Moranis), finds salvation in the form of a man-eating plant from outer space. But when this singing plant’s appetite becomes too insatiable to contain. It’s up to him to get the girl and save the world in this raucous sci-fi comedy musical.
About the speaker: Kevin Zhang has been growing carnivorous plants since third grade, 20 years ago. He currently serves as the president of the Mid-Atlantic Carnivorous Plant Society (MACPS), through which he shares his love of carnivorous plants with everyone who will listen. He has experience growing almost all of the 20 genera of carnivorous plants (albeit with varying degrees of success), and currently has well over 100 different species. Although carnivorous plants are his passion, he also enjoys growing cacti, giant pumpkins, and all sorts of other plants. You can see some of his carnivorous plants at the Philadelphia Flower Show every year, where he has exhibited since 2017.
