Shiu Chung Wong Piano Recital

Join us for an exceptional afternoon of piano music with Shiu Chung (Alex) Wong whose artistry has already earned him major academic and performance distinctions. A native of Hong Kong, Wong completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he was awarded a full scholarship and appointed associate instructor, teaching while pursuing his advanced studies.

Wong’s achievements include being named a finalist in the Robert Beardsley Piano Prize Competition and receiving an honourable mention in the Indiana MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition. He is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts student at Texas Christian University, where he studies with Dr. Enrico Elisi and holds a full-scholarship Graduate Assistantship, along with the prestigious STARS Award.

This performance will feature Debussy’s Préludes, Book II and Brahms’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in C Major, Op. 1.

Admission is by donation to support the Conservatory of Music's bursary and scholarship fund.
