Yet behind the scenes, nearly 1 in 4 local households experiences food insecurity. Food insecurity affects:Seniors on fixed incomesFamilies with childrenPeople working low-wage or seasonal jobsSingle-parent householdsNeighbours who may look “just fine” from the outsideAnd while food banks and meal programs help, they are not a long-term solution. Food insecurity is not about a lack of food—it’s about income, housing costs, and rising grocery prices.
