Enjoy samples of locally made treats like cider, chocolates, and cookies. Funds raised from this self-guided tour support the preservation of heritage properties in the County.Tickets will be on sale starting November 19th, 2025.Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the Royal LePage office 104 Main Street Picton no later than Sunday December 7th, 2025, 12:00 noon. Owned by a hobbyist hat-maker-needle worker and a talented cabinet-maker, their handiwork compliments the original etched windows, the deep moldings and the authentic fireplaces. Walking through this capacious house is like walking through another century. Still, a modern kitchen has been carved out of the original space and graced with reproduction beams that fly high overhead. Watch for cupboards that disguise hidden pipes and closets that fool the eye.Meadowview House - c1858The owners of this stunning home bought it a year ago from an architect and his partner who spent 15 years turning this 1858 former farmhouse into a thing of beauty. One of the most enchanting features of the house is how it seems to be one with the land on which it sits. Black Creek meanders along the boundary of the property, flowing gently into Jacksons Falls. A quiet swing sways from the limbs of a grand old Maple. A potting shed and a greyed-out barn can be seen through the wealth of windows. The garage alone would make anyone green with envy. Inside, the walls are graced with artwork. Large rooms are lit by Gothic windows and an Arts and Crafts motif slyly surprises as the house unfoldsThe Story Behind the Prince Edward County Christmas House TourThe demolition of the old Methodist Church, on Main St, Picton, in 2010, was the catalyst for the PEC Christmas House Tour. The loss of the church, sadly not a heritage-designated building, stressed the need for a plan to help preserve and protect our historic buildings.
