Hello Prince Albert! The Prairie School of Tai Chi Chuan from Regina invites you to attend a one day retreat where you’ll be able to practice the different systems we teach at our school and some of which you could find at schools in your area. The workshop will start at 10am, break for lunch at 12pm, and then resume at 1pm until mid-afternoon at 3pm. We’ll also try to get in a tea break at some point! I have planned the following agenda, although we may not have time for everything (or, on the other hand, we may even have time for a few more things!) depending on how much time we spend on each technique and area.
Morning 10am:
Introduction: School, lineage, styles
• Guided standing meditation for tension release
• Loosening Qigong (Lian Yee set)
• Compact Dao Yin set
• Aerobic Qigong: Dragon swinging, Crescent kicks, Lotus kicks, Qi jogging
• Formal Qigong set: Crystal Dragon, Part 1
• Qigong for Power training: Tai Chi Kwa squats and Horse stance
• Tien Dao Qigong
***Lunch 1pm***
Afternoon 2pm:
• Stretching: Wall stretching and stance stretching
• Formal Qigong set: Crystal Dragon, Part 2
• Tai Chi Chuan: Tai Chi Walk, Single move rows, Yang 13 form, Push hands, Self-defence demonstrations, and Rolling
• Visualization exercises: 5 organ Qigong, Resistance exercises
• Demonstration by Eric! (time allowing): Sword form and others
• Seated Meditation: Visualizing a form and breathing techniques
• Closing Qigong
Online practice videos of certain techniques will be part of the take-away from the course: These provide participants with the opportunity to practice a few of the techniques introduced during the retreat in the comfort of their home whenever they like.
