A short walk to discover the fascinating and colourful world of biofluorescence and our nocturnal creatures.About this EventJoin GSAB's Nature Recovery officer Antoine for a night time exploration of the woodlands near Barr.We will meet as the sun sets, and let our eyes get slowly accostumed to the darkness as we enter the woods and explore our surroundings using only ultraviolet (UV) lights or red light. Discover the fascinating world of biofluorescence and encounter creatures you dodn't know existed!Parking & Meeting Point: We will meet at the lower parking lot, turn right at the fork at the end of Changue Road. https://maps.app.goo.gl/nRBXuJ6PBdpNHqxU9Accessibility: During this walk, we will be walking in the dark along well maintained paths. We may also explore areas bordering paths. This means we may have to negotiate low branches and muddy patches.What to bring:Clothing for the weatherSuitable footwear with a good treadA head or hand torch, preferably with a red light modeYour sense of wonder!Walking stick if you need oneThis Woodland Ecology workshop is made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund The GSA Biosphere Partnership is part of the Red Squirrel Recovery Network working alongside Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Lancashire, Manchester & Merseyside Wildlife Trust, Knowsley Safari, Bright Green Nature, Restoring Upland Nature, UK Squirrel Accord and the UK Animal & Plant Health Agency.
