Noemi is the principal investigator of our "Forens-OMICS" team. Her main research involves the application of proteomics, metabolomics and DNA methylomics strategies to forensic science, particularly to skeletal remains, for post-mortem interval (PMI) and age-at-death estimation. Noemi will speak about her career to date and showcase the outstanding work which has led to her achieving the recognition of Professor. Nick is a deaf academic working in the fields of linguistics, sociolinguistics and international development. He is a reader in Sign Languages and Deaf Studies. Nick has worked with the Indonesian deaf community since 2007, and is particularly interested in Labovian and third-wave sociolinguistics, sign language typology, applied linguistics, and corpus-informed sign language teaching. As Co-Director of the iSLanDS Institute at the University of Lancashire, Nick has a strong record of using research to transform the lives of deaf people in the global South.
