Why not take active part this time for the 12th time on Friday 6th February 2026?About this EventThe Japan Day in Lancashire is back for the 12th time on Friday 6th February 2026. The event is going to be opened by our Special Guest from Japanese Embassy.It keeps on evolving and growing year by year. The 12th Japan Day cultural event is now calling your active participation rather than just a visitor on the day. Would you like to host your own stall or join the activities? You may want to walk the Runway in your favourite Japan themed attire and get a lot of attention or host your own Japan-themed stall. Or you may want to join dance groups. Please get in touch with the organiser as soon as you can: tamano@lancashire.ac.uk.NEW: There will be an art performance that compliments the display by Miria Miria, Aquinas College is hostping a learning stall of Japanese Onomatopoeia, and various Japan-themed stalls are preparing to sell goods. You can also pre-book Comparison of three differently graded matcha tasting and Premium Sake Lecture and Tasting again. There are our usual hands-on workshops such as Sa-do: Tea ceremony, Sho-do: Calligraphy, Samurai Warrior helmet making using Origami techniques and Furoshiki eco wrapping. You can also see displays and performances such as Marshal Arts, Manga/Anime, Japanese Sign Language (JSL) vs British Sign Language (BSL)and J-Pop Dance. Japan information stalls where you can learn about hidden gems of Japan, job opporunities under the JET scheme by the Embassy. Some of the sessions are BSL interpreted.The full programme and booking procedure is going to be open in January 2026. Poeple with limited mobilities: please park your car behind the Foster Building that is also close to Darwin Building via the Leighton Street. You can entre the venue from the back door and register your arrival once you have entred the Foster Social Space. Please do not forget to display your disability parking permit.Disclaimers:1) Because this is an event that is open to public, under 18s and people who require special attention must be accompanied and supervised at all time by adults who are able to take care of them.
