Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the art of vermicomposting—a sustainable, low-waste way to turn your kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost and compost tea! Perfect for anyone looking to reduce waste, produce their own fertilizer, and keep composting during the colder months.
What is Vermicomposting?
Vermicomposting uses worms (like red wigglers) to break down organic waste into fertile soil. Unlike traditional outdoor hot composting, vermicomposting can be done indoors, making it ideal for winter composting in northern climates. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to reduce your waste footprint while creating free, natural fertilizer for your plants and garden.
Whether you're just curious about the process or ready to dive in, we’ve got an option for you:
1️⃣ DIY a Worm Bin – Build your own bin during the workshop and take home everything you need, including worms!
2️⃣ Preorder Worms – Already have a bin? Preorder worms for in-store pickup anytime that day.
3️⃣ Learn for FREE – Attend the workshop to explore vermicomposting basics and see if it’s right for you.
*What to Bring if you are DIY-ing a new bin:
Please bring a tote or bin -an old storage tote is perfect-that you'll be turning into a compost bin! Totes/bins should NOT be clear (worms like the dark), have a snap-on lid and be ideally an 18-20 gallon bin or larger. We’ll provide everything else you need, including 1lb of worms to get started (a $45 value)!
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a curious beginner, this workshop is a fun and eco-friendly way to dive into the world of composting.
