Join Behind the Glass for an exploration of Nile Rodgers’ legendary production career. Discover the secrets behind "The Hitmaker" and the rhythmic DNA of modern pop. Nile Rodgers didn't just produce records; he engineered a global movement by blending jazz-influenced "chucking" guitar with sophisticated R&B and high-concept pop. Our session will look at how he stripped away the excess of the early 80s to find the rhythmic heart of artists like David Bowie, transforming him into a global dance icon with Let's Dance. We’ll also dive into his work with Madonna on Like a Virgin, where his focus on a solid, groove-heavy bottom end helped establish her as the Queen of Pop. The program also highlights his ability to revitalize bands, such as Duran Duran on "Notorious" and his late-career mastery with Daft Punk on "Get Lucky." Listening to these tracks on a high-end system reveals the "Nile Rodgers Sound"—a pristine clarity where the bass and drums are locked in a perfect, funky embrace, leaving space for the vocals to soar. From the shimmering disco strings of Chic and Sister Sledge to the quirky, New Wave energy of the B-52's, this is a deep dive into the production techniques that kept the world dancing for four decades. It's not just the bands and artists that make your favorite music. Each month KC record collector and record store personality David Lombardo takes you Behind the Glass to the other side of the studio, focusing on a different Music Producer or Engineer. David will share stories, anecdotes, trivia, and of course, the RECORDS they have helped bring to life! All of this great music will be played on The Listyning Room's world-class stereo system featuring high-end equipment by Audio Note, Klipsch and Cambridge Audio. Your $20 Donation supports Center For Recorded Music 501(c)(3) and includes admission, complimentary snacks and beverages including soft drinks, flavored waters, and up to 3 complimentary beverages from a great selection of beer, wine, mixed drinks, and NA versions of your favorites. - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/prairie-village/behind-the-glass-presents-the-production-work-of-nile-rodgers/200030073787704 - **Event Categories**: Music, Entertainment, Workshops, Parties, Nonprofit - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details ## Event venue details - **city**: Prairie Village - **state**: KS - **country**: United States - **location**: 3510 W. 95th Street, Leawood, KS, United States, Kansas 66206 - **lat**: 38.95775 - **long**: -94.62666 - **full address**: 3510 W. 95th Street, Leawood, KS, United States, Kansas 66206, 3510 W 95th St, Leawood, KS 66206-2033, United States, Prairie Village ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Behind the Glass presents the Production work of Nile Rodgers - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events9/banners/8b0ea72106ef619e98f3eee77bd1f5b7e3165a298b3e4ce99f66f7a4eca71207-rimg-w435-h396-dc2f2e30-gmir?v=1779278284 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Behind the Glass presents the Production work of Nile Rodgers being held? - **A:** Behind the Glass presents the Production work of Nile Rodgers takes place on Sat, 20 Jun, 2026 at 07:00 pm to Sat, 20 Jun, 2026 at 09:00 pm at 3510 W. 95th Street, Leawood, KS, United States, Kansas 66206, 3510 W 95th St, Leawood, KS 66206-2033, United States, Prairie Village. - **Q**: Who is organizing Behind the Glass presents the Production work of Nile Rodgers? - **A:** Behind the Glass presents the Production work of Nile Rodgers is organized by Center For Recorded Music. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
