About Kim:
Kim Brook is a visual artist and arts educator based in Lawrence, KS. Her passion for building and strengthening community is evident through art education, organizing community events and serving on the boards of the Friends of the Spencer Art Museum and 100 Good Women (both in Lawrence, KS).

As an art instructor, Kim challenges students to think creatively as an everyday process and to rethink ways of how art can build community. In addition, Kim is the lead artist for a Valentine’s Day card initiative for Meals on Wheels recipients. Along with over 900 volunteers, the group made 2,800 Valentine’s Day cards in 2026 for Douglas County, Shawnee County, Wichita Meals on Wheels, and Satanta’s Happy Agers.

In addition, Kim is a facilitator for Mid-America Arts Alliance and participates in local and regional art shows. She teaches ceramic and Korean cooking combination workshops and considers hosting events another art form.

As a recipient of art grants, scholarships, ceramic residencies, and awards, Kim enjoys sharing what she has learned to other aspiring artists.
