Projekt s názvem Thank You slovenského multimediálního umělce Marcela Korce je autorskou reflexí současného stavu věcí. Prostřednictvím interaktivních objektů upozorňuje na limity růstu, prázdnotu nadbytku a devalvaci lidského kontaktu. Dílo tak nabízí vizi dystopické budoucnosti, která zároveň apeluje na základní lidskou zkušenost ve světě technologického pokroku – jako výzvu k návratu k autentickému bytí a znovuobjevení citlivosti ke světu i k sobě samému. Projekt tak metaforicky předkládá otázku, zda by mohla existovat verze budoucnosti, v níž by lidstvo dokázalo radikálně transformovat své hodnoty i přístup ke světu, a přemítá nad její vizuální podobou. Marcel Korec (*1986) pracuje s médiem fotografie, pohyblivého obrazu, kresby, malby či různých instalací a interaktivních objektů. Bez ohledu na zvolenou formu se v jeho tvorbě objevuje velká míra sociální citlivosti, upřímný vzdor vůči nespravedlnosti a především černý humor jako katalyzátor komunikace složitých témat se širokou veřejností. Magisterský titul získal na VŠVU v Bratislavě jak na katedře nových médií, tak na katedře fotografie, kde v současnosti pokračuje v doktorském studiu. Zahraniční stáž absolvoval na Akademie der bildenden Künste ve Vídni. Účastnil se mnoha skupinových výstav na Slovensku, včetně prestižního festivalu OFF. The project entitled Thank You by Slovak multimedia artist Marcel Korec is an artistic reflection on the current state of affairs. Through interactive objects, it draws attention to the limits of growth, the emptiness of excess, and the devaluation of human contact. The work thus offers a vision of a dystopian future that also appeals to the basic human experience in a world of technological progress—a call to return to authentic being and to rediscover sensitivity to the world and to oneself. The project metaphorically poses the question of whether a version of the future in which humanity could radically transform its values and approach to the world is possible, while reflecting on its visual form. Marcel Korec (*1986) works with the media of photography, moving image, drawing, and painting, as well as various installations and interactive objects. Regardless of the chosen form, his work displays a high degree of social sensitivity, a sincere defiance of injustice, and, above all, black humor as a catalyst for communicating complex topics to the general public. He received his Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU) at both the Department of New Media and the Department of Photography, where he is currently pursuing his doctoral studies. He completed an international internship at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Slovakia, including the prestigious OFF Festival.
