Moderní české umělecké sklo bylo v kontextu světového dění od počátku pozoruhodné nejen tvůrčími ambicemi, svébytnou estetikou nebo technologickými inovacemi, ale též výraznou rolí žen-autorek. Díky své celistvosti proto nabízí perspektivy a cesty vedoucí mimo prvoplánové genderové stereotypy, deroucí se čas od času aktivisticky na povrch v různých částech planety. Několik generací vizionářek a vizionářů přicházelo a neustále přichází se svými idejemi, dávajícími význam a obsah termínu současné české autorské sklo. Patří mezi ně i Eva Vlčková.

Placed within a global historical context, modern Czech glass art has always been notable for its authorial innovation, unique aesthetics, and keen sense of technological innovation. One notable factor in this respect is the significant role played by female glass artists. Such an all-embracing approach has allowed Czech glass to offer perspectives and approaches that extend far beyond the traditional superficial “activist” gender stereotypes that occasionally manifest themselves around the world. Several generations of visionaries – both male and female – have continued to bring new ideas, content, and meaning to the Czech glass art scene. And without question Eva Vlčková is one such person.
