Peter Balhar (2001) je bubeník a producent z Prahy, působící po celé Evropě. Pohybuje se mezi improvizovanou hudbou, noisem, punkem, popem a performance artem - jeho tvorbu charakterizují prudké přechody od syrové agrese k křehké intimnosti. Se svou kapelou Trio Henya nahrával pro Český rozhlas a Rádio Bělehrad a v roce 2024 reprezentoval český jazz na Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festivalu. Hrál v improvizačním orchestru PMP, jenž spolupracoval s Anthonym Braxtonem a Roscoem Mitchellem. Balhar spolupracoval s performativními umělci napříč Evropou, mimo jiné s berlínskou umělkyní Lorenou Izquierdo. Je členem European Music Collective a vydal hudbu na belgickém labelu Klankhaven a českém labelu Ma. V roce 2023 získal titul Bachelor of Arts na HAMU v Praze a v roce 2025 titul Master of Music na RMC v Kodani. Mimo jiné studoval u Pettera Eldha, Nicka Duntona, Lotte Anker, Kaspera Tranberga, Jima Blacka, Christiana Lillingera, Ariho Hoeniga, Krestena Osgooda a Burkharda Beinse.

PETER BALHAR - SOLO SET
Peter Balhar (2001) is a drummer and producer from Prague, working across Europe. He moves between improvised music, noise, punk, pop, and performance art—marked by volatile shifts from raw aggression to fragile intimacy. With his band Trio Henya, he has recorded for Czech Radio and Radio Belgrade, and represented Czech jazz at the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival (2024). He played in the improvisation orchestra PMP, which has worked with Anthony Braxton and Roscoe Mitchell. Peter has collaborated with performance artists across Europe, including Berlin-based Lorena Izquierdo. He is part of the European Music Collective and released music on the Belgian label Klankhaven and the Czech label Ma. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from HAMU in Prague in 2023, and his Master of Music from RMC in Copenhagen, in 2025. Among others, he studied with Petter Eldh, Nick Dunston, Lotte Anker, Kasper Tranberg, Jim Black, Christian Lillinger, Ari Hoenig, Kresten Osgood, and Burkhard Beins.

A duo of two strong personalities from the improvisation scene explores the limits of the timbral and intonational possibilities of their instruments. The music is intense and lyrical, surprising and minimalist, yet always new — arising from a dialogue unfolding in real time.
