V Gruzii, v rušných ulicích Tbilisi, jsou v plíživé atmosféře sílícího ruského vlivu postupně omezována práva LGBT+ lidí. Přesto mnozí zůstávají a nevzdávají se boje za svou svobodu a budoucnost.
Dokument Kdesi na Kavkaze je portrétem Nutsy a Shaka – dvou obyčejných lidí, kteří se nikdy nesetkali, a přesto je spojuje hluboký vztah k vlastní zemi i odhodlání čelit zhoršujícím se podmínkám.
Citlivá sonda do strastí i radostí dvou obyčejných životů v neobyčejné době.

Premiéra krátkého filmu bude doplněna o besedu, ve které vystoupí protagoniststvo filmu. Projekce i beseda budou v angličtině.

Diskutující:

Nutsa Kiliptari – gruzínská feministická a queer aktivistka, která se dlouhodobě věnuje obhajobě lidských práv a boji proti diskriminaci. Působí v organizaci Tbilisi Pride, kde se zaměřuje na podporu LGBT+ komunity v prostředí silné společenské homofobie a politického tlaku. Ve své práci propojuje advokacii, komunitní podporu a veřejnou osvětu s cílem posílit viditelnost a bezpečí queer lidí v Gruzii.

Shako Demetrashvili – obsahový stratég a digitální tvůrce z Tbilisi. Ostré instinkty a hluboké emoce spojuje s ryzím lidským pochopením. Vychován k odolnosti, poháněn pravdou, beze strachu z narušení zažitých norem. Má slabost pro sladké, umí péct a bezpodmínečně miluje zvířata, což do toho všeho vnáší něhu.

Moderuje:
Jose Castorena – student produkce na DAMU, který se pohybuje v prostředí filmových a kulturních projektů. Dlouhodobě se zajímá o politiku a občanskou angažovanost, což ho přivedlo i k cestě do Gruzie, kde měl možnost poznat místní situaci zblízka.

Film vznikl jako studentský projekt s cílem otevřít prostor pro dialog, zamyšlení a solidaritu.

In Georgia, in the bustling streets of Tbilisi, LGBTQ+ rights are gradually being eroded in the creeping atmosphere of increasing Russian influence. Yet many choose to stay and continue fighting for their freedom and future.

"Somewhere in the Caucasus" is a portrait of Nutsa and Shako – two ordinary people who have never met, yet are connected by a deep bond to their homeland and a shared determination to face worsening conditions.
A sensitive insight into the struggles and joys of two everyday lives in an extraordinary time.

The premiere of this short film will be followed by a discussion featuring the film’s protagonists. Both the screening and the discussion will be held in English.

Speakers:

Nutsa Kiliptari – Georgian feminist and queer activist dedicated to human rights advocacy and the fight against discrimination. She works with Tbilisi Pride, focusing on supporting the LGBTQ+ community amid widespread societal homophobia and political pressure. In her work, she combines advocacy, community support, and public education to increase the visibility and safety of queer people in Georgia.

Shako Demetrashvili – Content strategist and digital creator from Tbilisi. He combines sharp instinct and deep emotion with genuine human understanding. Raised to be resilient, driven by truth, and unafraid to challenge norms. A lover of sweets, a skilled baker, and an unconditional animal lover – bringing tenderness into it all.

Moderator:
Jose Castorena – A production student at DAMU, active in film and cultural projects. He has a long-standing interest in politics and civic engagement, which led him to Georgia, where he had the opportunity to experience the local situation firsthand.

The film was created as a student project with the aim to open space for dialogue, reflection, and solidarity.
