Výstava Asthenopia představuje díla rezidenta Traťi 42 Dominika Beka a jím přizvané umělkyně Marie Holé. Její název označuje zrakovou únavu, která se projevuje diskomfortem, tlakem a pnutím. Podobně napjatý je i stav jedince, jehož ve svých dílech zachycují: člověka zapojeného do nepřetržité energetické výměny.
V současném světě se právě energie stává jednou z nejcennějších komodit. Její obchodování, přerozdělování a spotřeba přímo souvisejí s mocenskou nerovnováhou, která ovlivňuje každého z nás. Podobně jako vytěžované přírodní zdroje i lidská psychika stále rychleji naráží na své limity. Představa nevyčerpatelnosti se střetává se skutečností, že jsme všichni stále vyčerpanější. Udržovat vlastní vnitřní světlo při životě, přestože je neustále spotřebováváno, vyžaduje energii, kterou si již téměř nemůžeme dovolit vydávat, a přece tak nadále žijeme.

Kurátorkou výstav projektu ONS je Nicole Langrová, dramaturgii a produkci zajišťuje Barbora Dayef. O grafické řešení se postarali Šimon Jan a Dominik Bek.

The exhibition Asthenopia presents works by Trať 42 resident Dominik Bek together with invited artist Marie Holá. Its title refers to eye strain, a condition characterized by discomfort, pressure, and tension. Similarly strained is the state of the individual portrayed in their works: a person engaged in a continuous exchange of energy.
In today's world, energy has become one of the most valuable commodities. Its trade, distribution, and consumption are directly tied to power imbalances that affect each of us. Just as natural resources are being extracted at an accelerating pace, the human psyche is increasingly pushed to its limits. The notion of inexhaustibility collides with the reality that we are all becoming more exhausted. Keeping our inner light alive, even as it is constantly being consumed, demands energy we can scarcely afford to expend - yet this is how we continue to live.
