KARTMANN KOLLEKTIV
Daniel Kartmann založil soubor (složený ze starých i nových spoluhráčů) na Mezinárodním jazzovém festivalu Theaterhaus ve Stuttgartu o Velikonocích roku 2018.
Jedná se o otevřený ansámbl, který v proměnlivých sestavách pěstuje kolektivní improvizaci v duchu projektu Milese Davise: „Circle in the Round“, a snaží se tento přístup rozvíjet moderními hudebními způsoby. Pro kapelu je charakteristický opakující se psychedelický dechový motiv, který se zdánlivě nekonečně vrací v různých tóninách a výškách napříč všemi nástroji. Kolem tématu rozvíjí kolektivní improvizaci, jejímž cílem je přenést publikum i samotné hudebníky prostorem a časem do sdíleného, téměř spirituálního zážitku.
Tento ansámbl našel cestu do Prahy díky Torstenu Papenheimovi, s nímž Daniel Kartmann vydal debutové album „Halfway to Dawn“ v rámci dua Sunswept Sunday na českém labelu Ma Records. Pozvání na festival Ma v únoru 2024 v Praze bylo pro soubor velkou ctí a jsme rádi, že se můžeme vrátit a oslavit prohlubující se spolupráci mezi hudebníky ze Stuttgartu, Berlína, Prahy a Brna.
Zvláštností koncertu v Punctu bude, že ansámbl bude hrát uprostřed prostoru, v kruhu a téměř potmě. Publikum tak zažije jak individuální, tak kolektivní prožitek – každý ze své vlastní perspektivy.

Daniel Kartmann founded the ensemble, made up of old and new companions, at the International Theaterhaus Jazz Festival in Stuttgart at Easter 2018.
It is an open ensemble that cultivates collective improvisation in the spirit of Miles Davis' „Circle in the Round" in changing line-ups and wants to continue this in a contemporary way. It is characterised by a recurring, psychedelic brass theme that is repeated seemingly endlessly in different pitches and keys through all instruments. A collective improvisation unfolds around this theme, which aims to transport the audience and performers through space and time into a shared, almost spiritual experience.
This ensemble found its way to Prague via Torsten Papenheim, with whom Daniel Kartmann released their debut album "Halfway to Dawn" with the duo Sunswept Sunday on the Czech label Ma Records. The invitation from Ma festival in February 2024 in Prague was a special honour and we are happy to come back to celebrate the expanding collaboration between musicians from Stuttgart, Berlin, Praha and Brno.
The special thing about the concert at Punctum will be that the ensemble will play in the centre of the room, in a circle and almost in the dark, and the audience will enjoy both - an individual and a collective experience from the respective perspective.
