Andělský hlas, charismatický projev, zemité a oduševnělé písně a skvělá doprovodná kapela. Lizz Wright toto vše nabízí ve vzácně vyrovnané kombinaci, okořeněné tradicí afroamerické spirituální hudby a blues.
Narodila se v americké Georgii a vyrůstala v rodině pastora, který ji přivedl ke gospelové hudbě. Na jazzovou scénu vplula s espritem sobě vlastním už na začátku tisíciletí, kdy nahrála dodnes obdivovaný debut Salt (2003). S rostoucím podílem autorské tvorby se postupně stále více odhalovala umělecká pravdivost Lizz Wright a prohlubovala její nenapodobitelná schopnost namíchat originální barvu z hudební palety, na které je místo pro gospel, folk, jazz, pop i blues. Do Prahy se vrací se svým zatím posledním albem Shadow (2024).

An angelic voice, charismatic delivery, earthy and soulful songs and a great backing band. Lizz Wright offers all this in a rare balanced combination, spiced with the tradition of African American spiritual music and blues.
Born in Georgia, USA, she grew up in the family of a pastor who introduced her to gospel music. She burst onto the jazz scene with an esprit all her own at the beginning of the millennium, recording her still admired debut Salt (2003). As her output of original work grew, Lizz Wright’s artistic veracity gradually became more and more apparent, deepening her inimitable ability to mix original colour from a musical palette that has room for gospel, folk, jazz, pop and blues. She returns to Prague with her latest album to date, Shadow (2024).
