Topic for this session: Momentum II

Lets dive deeper into this lovely topic we started to explore during our second Lab.

Momentum is the tendency of a moving object to continue in its movement or of a stationary object to stay stationary. Keeping the momentum leads to fluidity in movement. It leads to beautiful play between leading and following dancers. It leads to and plays with lag. It's about giving time to our partner to finish his/her movement, to carefully perceive his/her movement and react to it. We can give momentum, receive momentum, redirect momentum, increase/decrease momentum, exchange momentum etc.


This is not a typical lesson where a lecturer teaches and participants simply absorb new material. Instead, it will be a collaborative exploration of defined topics. We’re very excited and looking forward to spending this time with you! We would very much love to encourage you to share your understanding of the topic with others, to come up with your own ideas for exercises etc. We are so excited to spend this time with you! Each session consists of two parts:
Part 1: Guided Topic Exploration – inputs from the lecturer(s), discussions and experiments (60 minutes)
Part 2: Free Dance – time to put your discoveries into practice (60 minutes)
