Výstava je součástí doktorského (Ph.D.) studia autorky na UJEP.
Belonging to Another je výstava umělkyně Darji Lukjanenko, která rozvíjí pojem alien v jeho původním významu „patřící někomu jinému“ – jako jazykovou i politickou kategorii jinakosti, připisování identity a kontroly pohybu. Východiskem projektu je napětí mezi mýtem a administrativou: mezi starými představami nebeských návštěvníků a moderní byrokracií, která proměňuje „cizí“ v právní status, formulář a čekání ve frontě.
Prostřednictvím videa Alien Manifesto a participativního prostředí Ministry of Alien Affairs výstava odhaluje, jak instituce a jazyk formují hranice příslušnosti – a jak se zkušenost „být cizí“ může stát sdíleným stavem, nikoli individuální výjimkou.
𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐤𝐨 (1994, Dnipro) pochází z Ukrajiny, kde vyrůstala ve městě Dnipro. Od roku 2017 žije a pracuje v Praze. Ve své interdisciplinární umělecké praxi se pohybuje na pomezí performance, textu a zahradničení, přičemž její tvorba vychází z metod stimulace empatie a zkoumání vztahových modelů založených na nedominantních a nehierarchických principech.
Od roku 2020 se systematicky věnuje tématu raketového konfliktu a kritické reflexi kosmismu, který zkoumá jako ideologii propojující technologický pokrok, militarizaci a imaginaci moci. Absolvovala Vysokou školu uměleckoprůmyslovou v Praze (UMPRUM) a v současnosti pokračuje v doktorském studiu na Fakultě umění a designu Univerzity Jana Evangelisty Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem.
Její výzkumný projekt se zaměřuje na otázky post-postkoloniální identity a na kulturní a umělecké praktiky, které se podílejí na rekonstrukci kolektivní paměti na Ukrajině po roce 2014. Od roku 2025 působí jako vedoucí ateliéru Fine Art na Fakultě umění a designu UJEP, který vede společně s Martinem Krupou.

The exhibition is part of the artist’s doctoral (Ph.D.) studies at UJEP.
Belonging to Another is an exhibition by artist Darja Lukjanenko that develops the concept of the alien in its original meaning—“belonging to someone else”—as both a linguistic and political category of otherness, attributed identity, and the regulation of movement. The project is grounded in the tension between myth and administration: between ancient imaginaries of celestial visitors and modern bureaucracy, which transforms the “foreign” into a legal status, a form, and time spent waiting in line.
Through the video Alien Manifesto and the participatory environment Ministry of Alien Affairs, the exhibition reveals how institutions and language shape the boundaries of belonging—and how the experience of “being alien” can become a shared condition rather than an individual exception.
𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐤𝐨 (1994, Dnipro) was born and raised in Dnipro, Ukraine. Since 2017 she has lived and worked in Prague. Her interdisciplinary artistic practice operates at the intersection of performance, text, and gardening, and is grounded in methods of stimulating empathy and exploring relational models based on non-dominant and non-hierarchical principles.
Since 2020, she has been systematically engaged with the theme of missile conflict and a critical reflection on cosmism, which she examines as an ideology linking technological progress, militarization, and imaginaries of power. She graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
Her research focuses on questions of post-postcolonial identity and on cultural and artistic practices involved in the reconstruction of collective memory in Ukraine after 2014. Since 2025, she has been co-leading the Fine Art Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design, UJEP, together with Martin Krupa.
